Krung Thai has been in San Jose for decades. Upon mentioning thai food, people will immediately suggest this as one of the places to head to. The parking lot is a bit small so carpool if you can. The restaurant stands as its sole building on the property. Wait times depend on when you're stopping in for food. Staff is friendly and attentive as soon as you walk in. The interior of the restaurant itself gives off a classy casual vibe with tablecloths and wood furniture. The menu has a variety of curries, meats, and noodles. Coworkers love sharing the meal family style by ordering multiple items from the menu. From previous experience, all items have been delectable and memorable. The shrimp pad thai was delicious as usual. The noodles are not soggy and had a sufficient taste with texture. Only downside is the serving size might be small if you are thinking of sharing with others as a family style meal. The plates will come with serving size utensils, so photos may be misleading to judge order size. Entrees are usually enough to feed 1 person only. The price also falls on the more expensive side of dining. For great thai food in San Jose, this is still the place to go to after many years of business!

New Krung Thai never disappoints, especially when it comes to their pad see ew. We stopped by for a casual weekday dinner while running errands, and as always, the dish was excellent. The combination of soft and crispy tofu added great texture, the noodles were perfectly tender, and the greens stayed fresh and crunchy. We also tried the shrimp toast, which was surprisingly packed with protein, though I'd probably skip it next time in favor of their classic angel wings--those are always a great choice. Service was warm and attentive, making the experience even better. Though we got lucky with our 6pm dining time, the parking lot fills up quickly, even on a Monday night, so plan ahead. When we left at around 7 the lot was packed! Inside, the atmosphere was lively, with groups celebrating birthdays and retirements. The location next to Valley Fair Mall makes it a convenient stop for a great meal before or after shopping. Definitely a spot worth returning to!

Came here to celebrate and catch up with friends. Started with papaya salad, tom yum soup, crispy shrimp, fried rice, and drunken noodles. Everything tasted amazing. Plenty of indoor seating. Great for family and friends. Service was quick. Mango sticky rice dessert was good. But the mangos were really small. Would love it to be at least 1/2 of the mango.

My family and I have been coming to New Krung Thai for years and it has never failed us! Everything has always been delicious and the staff are always attentive and friendly. Some of my favorite dishes are the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and yum woon sen (silver noodle salad). There's a parking lot but it's super small and fills up pretty quickly. Sometimes we park around the neighborhood and walk. I would that that's the only con of this place.

I went here last weekend for dinner with my family. We didn't have to wait too long, maybe 20-25 minutes. Not too bad for a Saturday. As usual, this restaurant is packed (couples, families, and possibly dates). We ordered or usuals, but my sister wanted to try one of the off the menu items ( Ribeye Crying Tiger) It was melt in your mouth delicious! Definitely try that when you go there for dinner.

I've been going to this restaurant with my family since I was young. I haven't been here for a long time though. The parking lot is limited and small. There was about a 15-20 min wait on a Friday night. Service here is always lacking - workers are slow and not efficient. The food however is great. Very well cooked and flavorful. What we ordered: Pad thai Calamari salad Fried pork belly Catfish curry

I was craving good Thai food today, so I decided to visit New Krung Thai. I've always enjoyed Thai cuisine, but this restaurant is by far my favorite. Compared to other Thai places, New Krung Thai offers deeper, richer, and more intense flavors. I'm usually not a fan of overly intense flavors, but here, they strike the perfect balance it's flavorful in the best way. No wonder so many people love this spot! Today, Pauline served us, and she was friendly. In general, the staff here is always welcoming. Occasionally, when it gets really busy, they may seem a bit overwhelmed, but they still do their best and remain professional. We ordered the chicken basil, squid in a flavorful sauce, Rad Na (gravy noodles) & Thai tea. Everything was absolutely delicious I loved it all! Will I be coming back? Oh yes!

This was a popular place in high school. A few years later, this place is holding it down and going strong! AMBIANCE: Parking: A small plaza that can fit about 10-15 cars. Seating: Pretty spacious place that's great for groups. It can fit about 50 people. Vibes: The highlight of this part of San Jose is the Valley Fair mall and Santana Row. You're not too far away from the mall so it's a nice place to enjoy before or after shopping around the area. The spot itself is pretty intimate and well-decorated with Thai culture. Great place for family or a fun food adventure. FOOD: Pad Thai (Recommend) This is a great 101 for newbies. Flat rice noodles, scrambled eggs, chicken, shrimp, peanuts with mixes of galric, sugar, shallots, and fresh green onions. A lovely medley of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. Tom Kha Gai (Recommend) Meaning flavorful chicken ginger soup. It does live up to expectations, served hot with a lite creamy texture, coconut, lemongrass, and ginger. Usually packed with spice but we requested it on the side. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! We placed an order and it arrived in a timely manner TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Awesome! Great choices, delicious food, and reasonable prices. I understand why this earned some awards and is recommended by many. I look forward to coming back here again. For those in need of Thai food, check this space out! #RepresentASIAN TIPS: * Don't get it mixed up with the old Krung Thai (but feel free to check that out). * Krung means capital/king in Thai * Unsure about the spice? Ask them to serve it on the side.

Came here for lunch on a weekend and it was pretty busy! There were a lot of tables of families. They have a variety of dishes and many options to choose from. We opted for the fried pork belly that seem to be one of their seasonal menus. We also picked a noodle dish. We picked rad na which is a flat rice noodle dish with gravy. There was a lot of vegetables that were included in the dish, which was nice. We also ordered the eggplant chili garlic with tofu. Overall, everything was pretty good. There is a small parking lot that seems to fill up during busier hours. A pretty good find close to the Westfield mall!
